12-Year Program (TYP) Public Forum

The State Transportation Commission (STC) conducts an Online Public Forum every two years as part of the Public Comment Period for the update of the 12-Year Program (TYP). The Online Public Forum for the update of the 2025 TYP was held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Join our email list to receive notifications about future public meetings.

Purpose

The purpose of the Public Forum is to provide a convenient way to discuss current transportation issues and answer your transportation questions live.

History

The first Online Public Forum for the TYP update was broadcast as a webinar in 2013 as part of the public outreach modernization effort. Since then, Public Forums for the TYP update have continued to be conducted via broadcast as part of each TYP update. In 2019, 2021, and 2023, the Public Forum was also streamed through Facebook Live to provide another form of accessibility and to encourage more diverse participation.

What happens during the Public Forum?

The Public Forum typically includes a presentation by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) leadership and representatives of the State Transportation Commission (STC). They discuss Pennsylvania’s Transportation Performance Report (TPR), the 12-Year Program Update process, and other recent transportation accomplishments, challenges, and upcoming goals. The presentations are followed by a live Question and Answer session with questions from the live audience and those sent in advance of the Forum by meeting registrants.

You can view the 2023 Online Public Forum questions and answers here. You can also view a recording of the Public Forum, the meeting transcript, and, for the first time, a copy of the PowerPoint presentation is also included below.
